Wichita Falls police arrested an Arlington man wanted out of Taylor County on Thursday evening, May 14, after a vehicle pursuit and foot chase through the city, according to police.
The Wichita Falls Police Department identified the man as O'Ryan Ross. Police said they were alerted by Abilene police that Ross was in the area.
According to an arrest affidavit, officers located Ross driving eastbound on Kell Freeway and paced his vehicle at 80 mph in a posted 60 mph zone. During a traffic stop, Ross pulled over on Central Freeway near Scotland Park and shortly afterward drove away, the affidavit states.
The affidavit alleges Ross drove down an embankment onto the access road, turned into a residential neighborhood and continued at a high rate of speed, failing to stop at multiple stop signs. Ross eventually stopped the vehicle, exited and ran on foot in the 1400 block of 6th Street, scaling a locked gate and continuing through backyards, according to the document.
Officers lost sight of Ross and established a perimeter in the area. He was located a short time later hiding behind a shed in a backyard on 6th Street and taken into custody, police said. During the pursuit, officers determined a 4-month-old child had been inside the vehicle, according to the department.
Ross is facing Wichita County charges of evading arrest, endangering a child and two counts of criminal trespass. He also faces charges out of Taylor County, including a motion to revoke for deadly conduct and two counts of possession, according to authorities.
Ross remained in the Wichita County Jail on bonds totaling approximately $76,500 for the Wichita County charges at the time of publication.
All individuals charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
