The Wichita Falls Police Department has arrested a suspect in the May 10 fatal shooting at The Back End nightclub, according to a statement from the department.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Jacob Vasquez said Patrol and Special Operations officers took Ray Kelley Jr. into custody Thursday night. Kelley has been charged with murder and is being held at the Wichita County Jail on a recommended bond of $1 million, police said.

Officers responded to The Back End after-hours bar shortly after 4 a.m. on Sunday, May 10, for a reported shooting. According to police, one person, later identified by the surname Cochran, was killed at the scene and a second person was injured.

The case remains under investigation. All individuals charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
