Wichita County voters will decide a Republican primary runoff on May 26, with the county judge race the only local contest on the ballot, according to the Times Record News.

County judge runoff

The runoff pits former Wichita Falls city councilor Rick Hatcher against political newcomer Mark Dora for the Republican nomination for county judge. No Democrat filed for the seat, meaning the winner of the May 26 runoff is expected to take the office now held by Jim Johnson, who did not seek a second term.

Early voting in the runoff begins May 18 and runs through May 22.

Statewide and other races

The runoff ballot also includes the statewide race for the Republican U.S. Senate nomination, where incumbent John Cornyn faces Attorney General Ken Paxton. Other Republican primary runoffs include Texas lieutenant governor and attorney general, along with several congressional contests.
