Former Rider High School football player Jacob Rodriguez has been selected in the 2026 NFL Draft, according to KFDX/KJTL.
Rodriguez played as a Rider Raider before continuing his football career at the college level, and now advances from the local high school field to the professional ranks.
Wichita Falls native Carter Strange told KFDX the selection mattered to the city. "It is amazing. There is not a whole lot of talent that comes from this town, so when we do, we try to cherish it," Strange said. "This is a really big deal for the city of Wichita Falls."
KFDX reports community members across Texoma have responded to the news, with the pick being recognized locally as a notable moment for Wichita Falls athletes.
