Wichita Falls police have identified the victim of an early-morning shooting at a bar over the weekend and are continuing to look for the person or persons responsible, according to the Wichita Falls Police Department.

Police said in a media release Sunday that one person was killed in a shooting at the Back End bar at 2509 Sheppard Access Road. The shooting happened at about 4 a.m. Sunday, according to a notice from Wichita Falls Area Crime Stoppers.

The victim has been identified as Shedarius Cochran, 32, police said.

"When officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to United Regional Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased," the Crime Stoppers notice said.

Sgt. Jacob Vasquez of the Wichita Falls Police Department said police are investigating the homicide but no arrests had been made as of Monday afternoon.

Police said the shooting was an isolated incident and not an ongoing danger to the public.

"Right now, detectives with the WFPD are still working to identify the person or persons responsible," Crime Stoppers said.

An initial media release from police indicated a second person had been injured, but no further information was released on that person's status. The Back End bar property is listed as owned by Jungle Jan LLC, which has a post office box address at Sheppard Air Force Base.
