The Salvation Army of Wichita Falls and TXU Energy will distribute 100 free box fans to families on Friday, May 15, at 10 a.m. at 403 7th St. Fans will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis.
The fans were purchased with a $4,000 donation from TXU Energy's Beat the Heat program. TXU Energy will also present a $100,000 check to The Salvation Army to fund Energy Aid bill-payment assistance for families in the Wichita Falls area.
Community members can contribute to TXU Energy Aid through one-time or monthly donations on the program's official website.
