Sober Living Inc. will hold an open house and dedication ceremony for Joe's Place, a new recovery residence for men, on Saturday, May 16, from 2 to 4 p.m., the organization said. The home is located at 1921 7th Street in Wichita Falls and is open to the public for the dedication.

The residence is named for Joseph Whalen and is intended to provide a structured, supportive environment where residents can focus on sobriety, employment and rebuilding family and community ties.

Sober Living Inc. operates another local recovery house and offers transition support for individuals leaving addiction-related instability. The organization said the building is a remodel of an older home and that labor and materials were donated by area businesses including Clay's Pro Surface, Johnson's Furniture, Appliance and Mattress, Kelly Montoya, the Mendoza Foundation, Vic and James Paint Center, Breegle's Abbey Carpet and Flooring, Classic Plumbing, HIS Paint and J & S Drywall Specialties.
